What Happened to Automatic Viral?
Automatic Viral stopped taking new customers in 2019, was selling again in 2020, then closed again. Its prices, its claims and what to use now.
Automatic Viral (automaticviral.com) sold monthly plans that sent Instagram likes to each new post. On October 23, 2026, its homepage held one line, "We're no longer accepting new customers," and a login link. That notice first went up in 2019. The site was selling again in 2020, then the notice returned, and it's been there since.
Quick Answer: It's closed to new buyers, and every Internet Archive copy since November 1, 2020 shows the same notice. It never said why. The domain is still registered and renewed to 2027. If you want likes on a post today, our free tier gives 12 free Instagram likes with no password.

The timeline
- August 4, 2014: the domain is registered, by Verisign's record. Its price, FAQ and terms pages were first archived that September.
- 2016: its pricing page reads "Buy Automatic Instagram Likes," from $17 a month for 100 likes per picture.
- October 14, 2017: "AutomaticViral is the first and only service that provides real likes from real users," the homepage says.
- January 25, 2019: the last archived sales page of its first run, with nine plans.
- May 25, 2019: a BlackHatWorld post says "It is now May 2019 and Automatic Viral is no longer accepting new customers."
- June 11, 2019: the first archived copy of the notice.
- September 18, 2020: an archive copy shows a sales page with sign-up buttons again.
- November 1, 2020: the notice returns, and every copy since shows it.
Archive copies are snapshots, so each change happened somewhere between two dated captures.
What did Automatic Viral sell?
Monthly plans of automatic likes. You gave it your username, and it watched your account for new posts. "New uploads are usually detected within 30 seconds of upload," its homepage said in 2017. Videos got "the same amount of views as likes, completely free."
Likes went to your first four posts each day. You could set their speed, and its FAQ said "speeds range from Instant to 4 hours." There was no password involved: "All we require is your username."

Its homepage as the Internet Archive saved it on January 25, 2019. The September 18, 2020 page had the same nine prices.
So it ran from $9.99 to $450 a month. Each plan came with a "30 day money back guarantee." In 2016, its FAQ also mentioned people who "signed up through a third party affiliate (e.g., Buzzoid)." Those signups had a limit of 40 uploads a month.
Where did the likes come from?
Real people, by its own account. "Whenever you share a new post, we show it to our in-network users in real time," its FAQ said in January 2019. "If they've opted in to our Like Program, they'll give your post a like."
The same FAQ promised: "No, our system is 100% safe and will not get your account banned or disabled." That's the seller's word, and we found nothing that tested it.
Instagram had said where it stood by then. On November 19, 2018, it said it would begin "removing inauthentic likes, follows and comments from accounts that use third-party apps to boost their popularity." The closure notice was up within six months. Automatic Viral never said whether the two were linked.
What changed in 2020?
In the copy of September 18, 2020, the prices were the same and the promise was softer. "Real likes from real users" had dropped off every plan, and "Maximum exposure" took its place. Step three now read "Our system will help your latest uploads get more exposure."
The FAQ's answer on how it delivered real likes was gone, too. By November 1, six weeks after that copy, the notice was back.
Why did it close?
It didn't say. The notice gives no reason, and we found no statement from the company or from Instagram. The forum post of May 2019 only passed on a rumor "that this is the end of their service."
Other pages fill the gap with guesses. Nitreo's blog, published July 14, 2026, gives "several reasons" services like it close, and says it offered "targeted follower acquisition." Automatic Viral's own pages sold likes, and its 2016 FAQ answered "Not yet" when asked about followers. Tracxn calls it "a deadpooled company, founded in 2017," though its price page was archived in 2014.
Was Automatic Viral a scam?
It ran a real service for years, and its homepage showed "4.73 / 5 based on 387 reviews" in 2019. That widget was its own.
Outside sites are harsher. ScamAdviser rates the site "Very Likely Unsafe," with a trust score of 0, and says it "has received mainly negative reviews." Its page gives no usable date for that scan. Trustpilot showed a TrustScore of 2.5 from 4 reviews in Google's results on October 23, 2026, and Sitejabber has none. That's too little to call it a scam.
What if you're still being charged?
The plans billed monthly. Its 2019 FAQ said to log in, go to Subscriptions and click "Manage Subscription," or contact the company. The login link is still on the homepage, so try that first.
If you can't get in and a charge keeps coming, talk to your card issuer. The FTC lists "things you didn't accept or weren't delivered as agreed" as billing errors. Your letter should reach the issuer "within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent to you." This isn't legal advice.
