TikTok Clipping: How to Start a Clip Page TikTok Allows
TikTok pays nothing for campaign clips, and plain reposts lose the For You feed. TikTok's rules for clip pages, what campaigns ask for, and setup steps.
TikTok clipping means posting short clips of someone else's videos on a TikTok page and getting paid per 1,000 views by a campaign. TikTok itself pays nothing for those clips. Its Creator Rewards Program says "Ads, paid promotions, or sponsored content do not qualify." The money comes from campaigns, and on October 22, 2026, 51 of the 55 live campaigns on Content Rewards took TikTok. Your clips still have to pass TikTok's rules: reposts "without creative edits" lose the For You feed.
We read TikTok's Community Guidelines, in force since September 24, 2026, and its Creator Academy pages on originality, rewards and branded content. We also counted the live campaign board.
How does TikTok clipping work?
You clip footage a campaign gives you, post it on your own TikTok page, and get paid for the views.
- Join a campaign that pays for TikTok views.
- Download the footage the brand or creator provides.
- Edit the clip with your own cut, captions and hook.
- Post it on your TikTok page with the paid partnership label on.
- Submit the link. Content Rewards asks for it "within 30 minutes" of posting.
- Get approved and paid per 1,000 verified views.
The 50 per-view campaigns that took TikTok paid a median $1.00 per 1,000 views. At that rate, 100,000 views earn $100 before the 10% fee. Our guide to making money clipping has the full pay math.
Does TikTok pay you for clips?
Not for campaign clips. TikTok's own payout is the Creator Rewards Program, and a campaign clip misses it on several counts.
- Paid posts are out. "Ads, paid promotions, or sponsored content do not qualify."
- Videos must run over 1 minute. Most clips are shorter.
- No slideshows. A video "shouldn't be created using Photo Mode."
- Originals only. Content "copied from others or has minimal original input or edits" is ineligible.
The program also needs 10,000 followers, 100,000 video views in the last 30 days and an age of 18 or older. It's open in eight countries: the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico and Brazil. So for a clipper, the campaign is the paycheck.
What does TikTok count as unoriginal?
TikTok's originality page lists four kinds of unoriginal content:
- "Content copied completely from others."
- "Content that is largely repurposed from another source without adding any creative edits."
- "Content combined from multiple sources with little or no additional information and/or content value."
- "Content with someone else's visible watermark or superimposed logo."
It says such content "may be removed from the For You feed, making it harder to discover." The Community Guidelines add short clips "made from GIFs only" to the list. These are the TikTok rules a clip page runs into most.
| What you do | What TikTok does |
|---|---|
| Repost a clip with no edits | Drops it from For You |
| Leave another app's watermark | Drops it from For You |
| Post GIF-only short clips | Drops it from For You |
| Pose as the creator | Not allowed |
| Run accounts with bots | Not allowed |
| Skip the paid label | May drop it from For You |
| Use fake likes or followers | Removes them |
TikTok Community Guidelines, integrity and authenticity section, in force since September 24, 2026, and TikTok's Creator Academy page on branded content, read October 22, 2026.
To check a video, open TikTok's analytics. TikTok says it shows "if there were any made ineligible for recommendation."
Can you run more than one TikTok clip page?
Yes, within limits. TikTok says you "can have multiple accounts," for example "for fan content or creative expression," but "not to deceive others or break the rules."
Two rules decide it. "Using automation to run many accounts or send repetitive content" counts as spam. And a page about one creator can't pose as them: TikTok bans "pretending to be someone else without clearly stating that the account is a fan or parody account in the display name." So put "fan" in the display name of a page built around one person.
What do TikTok clipping campaigns ask for?
Most campaigns take TikTok, and a few take nothing else.
| Measure | Campaigns |
|---|---|
| Accept TikTok | 51 of 55 |
| TikTok only | 6 |
| Ask for slideshows | 4 |
| Median rate per 1,000 | $1.00 |
Our count of the 55 live campaigns on the Content Rewards board, October 22, 2026. The rate is the median of the 50 per-view campaigns that accept TikTok.
Three of the TikTok-only campaigns were apps that wanted TikTok slideshows, and the other three were music or creator campaigns. Slideshows are a campaign format that TikTok's Creator Rewards won't pay for, since it excludes Photo Mode and "slide videos."
Political clips are the exception to watch. Content Rewards' terms say "Political Clips are not allowed on TikTok or X." TikTok bans paid political content too: it doesn't allow "creators being compensated for making branded political content." Even so, the one political campaign on the board that day listed TikTok as a platform. Skip TikTok for any political campaign.
How do you start a TikTok clipping account?
These steps follow TikTok's rules and the campaigns' rules together.
- Pick one niche or one campaign. Start with footage you're allowed to use.
- Set up the page. If it's built around one person, say it's a fan account in the display name.
- Link it to the campaign site. Content Rewards connects TikTok through TikTok's own sign-in or a code in your bio, so you never share your password.
- Edit every clip. Add your own cut, captions and hook. Never leave another app's watermark on it.
- Turn on the label. Tap "Content disclosure and ads," then turn on "Disclose commercial content." Posts for another brand get a "Paid partnership" label. TikTok says that without it, "your content may not be eligible for the For You Feed."
- Submit the link fast, then watch TikTok's analytics for clips marked ineligible.
- Never buy views or followers for the page. Content Rewards bans that for good, and TikTok removes fake likes and followers it detects. Growth services, ours included, don't belong on a campaign account.
Is TikTok clipping legal?
Clipping footage a campaign gives you is the safe route. TikTok's rule is simple: "You should only post content you created or have the right to share." Clips that break someone's copyright get removed. Paid clips also need the disclosure label, and paid political clips aren't allowed on TikTok at all.
Frequently asked questions
Does TikTok clipping make money?
Yes, through campaigns. TikTok's own Creator Rewards excludes paid promotions. On October 22, 2026, the per-view campaigns that took TikTok paid a median $1.00 per 1,000 views, so 100,000 views earn about $100 before fees.
Can you get in trouble for clipping on TikTok?
Yes, if you break TikTok's rules. Reposts without edits lose the For You feed, and copyright breaks get removed. Posing as the creator or running accounts with bots can get accounts banned.
Can you monetize clipping on TikTok?
Through campaigns only. TikTok's Creator Rewards needs original videos over 1 minute, and it leaves out paid promotions, Photo Mode slideshows and content with "minimal original input or edits."
How many followers do you need to start TikTok clipping?
Campaigns pay for views, and Whop says of its clipping campaigns: "It doesn't matter how many followers you have." TikTok's own Creator Rewards is different: it needs 10,000 followers.
Is TikTok clipping worth it?
It depends on your views. At the median $1.00 per 1,000, a clip needs about 111,000 views to make $100 after the 10% fee. Read each campaign's budget and cap first, using our guide to clipping campaigns.
How long should a TikTok clip be?
Campaigns set their own length rules, so read the brief. TikTok's Creator Rewards only counts videos over 1 minute, but campaign clips don't earn from it anyway.
