Free Follower Sites: Which Ones Still Work in 2026
We checked every free follower site in this category on 9 September 2026. Most of the famous ones are dead domains or parking pages. Here is what is left.

See everything free right nowMost lists of free follower sites were written years ago and never checked again. They still recommend tools whose domains stopped resolving in 2022. We went through the whole category on 9 September 2026 and looked at what each site actually serves today.
The short version: four of the biggest names here are gone. Not slow, not unreliable. Gone. Their domains either have no DNS record at all or they point at a parking page that earns money from your click.
Quick Answer: Of the well-known free follower sites, Zefoy still runs behind a captcha wall, TikFollowers and Leofame still deliver, and VIPTools, IGTools, FBSub and GetInsta are dead domains or parking pages. How we checked
Every domain in the table was resolved against Google Public DNS and fetched over HTTPS with a normal desktop browser user agent on 9 September 2026. Where a site blocked automated requests, we say so and mark it unverified rather than calling it dead. Where a site is dead, we went to the Internet Archive to find out when it broke.
We didn't enter a username, a link, an email address or a captcha answer into any of these tools. Everything below is what the site serves a visitor before you interact with it, plus archived history, plus reporting we could source.
That matters because the usual way these lists get written is by copying the previous list. One page ranking today lists ThemeForest and CodeCanyon as VIPTools alternatives, which means the writer thought a TikTok bot was a design marketplace. The same page says VIPTools is "online and reachable". It has no DNS record.

The four big names that are gone
VIPTools
viptools.es has no DNS record. Neither do www.viptools.es, viptools.co or viptools.org. The German sibling vipto.de still resolves, but the last archived look inside it, from March 2026, shows an Apache directory listing with nothing in it. An empty web root. Through late 2025 it was throwing a 502 error.
The archive tells the story clearly. The biggest saved copies of viptools.es are from December 2019. Everything after that is about a kilobyte, which is the size of an error page, not a website.
What people find when they search for it now is viptoolses.com, a WordPress blog on a news theme with its own ad code, a login form, and a Vietnamese sports streaming link in the header. There's no tool on it.
IGTools
igtools.net has no DNS record either. This one's got a proper ending, though, because the operators wrote one. The last archived copy of the homepage, from 3 October 2022, is four lines long:

That was almost four years ago. There's no archived copy of the site after that date. People are still searching for it 40,000 times a month, and articles published this year still tell readers to "stop using IGTools immediately", which is hard advice to follow when the site doesn't exist.
FBSub
fbsub.net still returns a page, which is why it's still fooling people. The page title is "Redirecting..." and the only thing on it's a script that posts to a domain parking router. Whatever advertiser pays most is where you end up.
We can date this one closely. Its security certificate expired on 29 July 2024. The last archived copy showing a real site is 26 August 2024. By 23 November 2024 it was already a parking page. So it died in that autumn window, and it's been an advert ever since.
GetInsta
getinsta.com is a Sedo parking page with the domain listed for sale. getinsta.net is a stub, getinsta.io says "Loading" forever, and getinsta.app has no DNS record.
This one's worth knowing, because when IGTools shut down in 2022 its users were told to move to GetInsta. They moved to something that then died too.

Zefoy still works. It's also the only big name here still genuinely operating, and it now spends most of its homepage fighting off clones of itself. zefoy.social, zefoy.one, zefoy.info, zefoy.org, zefoy.online and several others were all live when we checked, and none of them's the real site.
What Zefoy asks for is captchas. You paste a link, you solve an image puzzle, you get a small amount of engagement, and you solve another puzzle for the next one. There's no password and nothing to install, which is genuinely better than what TopFollow asks for. The cost is your time and your attention, and the site's funded by the adverts you look at while you spend both.

The ones that still deliver something free
Four sites in this category still hand over engagement for free, and they differ mainly in what they charge you instead of money.
Leofame asks for a username and nothing else. No login, no captcha, no email. It gives you about 20 TikTok followers. That's the lowest friction free offer we found anywhere.
TikFollowers and its sister site TikFames ask for a username or profile link plus a captcha. No password, no email. They give around 100 per claim, with a short cooldown of ten to thirty minutes.
Poprey and TikFuel give 10 to 25 units free, but they want your email address first. That's the trade. You pay in marketing permission instead of time.
TopFollow is the one to watch out for. It does give Instagram followers, but you've got to install an APK that isn't on the Play Store, log in with your real Instagram account, and then earn coins by following strangers and liking their posts. Your account performs the coordinated activity. Guides for the app itself tell you to use a throwaway account, which tells you what the risk is. The modified "unlimited coins" builds that rank well in search are repackaged APKs, and those are the ones that carry real malware risk.

You give us a link or a username and an email address. There's no password, no survey, no captcha and nothing to install. A claim comes round every 8 hours, and the same profile or post waits a bit longer than you do, which stops one account getting farmed all day.
Every claim runs through the same suppliers our paying customers get. That's why the amounts are small. A site promising you 10,000 free followers either isn't delivering them, or is delivering something that gets removed. We'd rather give you a hundred that stay.

How to tell a dead tool from a working one before you paste anything
You can run the same checks we did in about a minute, and you don't need any tools.
Look at what the page actually is. A working tool has a form on it. If the page is an essay about "social media growth strategies" with no input box, the tool's gone and the domain is being farmed for search traffic.
Check the title of the browser tab. "Redirecting...", "Loading...", "This domain is for sale" and "Index of /" all mean there's nothing there. FBSub's tab still says "Redirecting..." today.
Search for the name plus the year. If every result is an affiliate blog and none of them is the site itself, that's because the site doesn't exist to be linked to any more.
Be suspicious of a brand with five domains. Zefoy has a genuine site and a dozen clones. TopFollow has three front doors. When a brand name spreads across many domains, most of them are somebody else monetising the name.
Never install an APK to get followers. The base app might be fine. The version that ranks first in search usually isn't, because modified builds are where the ad SDKs and the malware get inserted.

Do free follower sites actually work?
A few do, and most of the famous ones don't exist any more. Of the well-known names, Zefoy, TikFollowers, TikFames, Leofame, Poprey and TikFuel were all delivering when we checked on 9 September 2026. VIPTools, IGTools, InstaBoostGram and FreeLiker are dead domains, and FBSub, GetInsta, SocialEnablers and TurboLiker are parking pages.
Why do so many free follower sites die?
Because free engagement costs the operator money and doesn't pay them anything directly. They fund it with adverts and with what they learn about you, and when the platform changes its rules or the ad money dries up, the maths stops working. IGTools said so plainly when it closed in 2022. The sites that survive have another business paying for the free lane, which is how ours works.
Is it safe to give a free follower site my username?
A username or a public post link is low risk, because it's information anybody can see on your profile anyway. A password is a different thing entirely, and no legitimate service needs one. If a site asks you to log in with your real account credentials, close it.
What about sites that make me install an app?
An installed app can do things a website can't, which is the whole reason it wants to be installed. TopFollow needs an Instagram login and then uses your account to follow other people. Even guides written by fans of the app suggest running it from a throwaway account. Take that advice seriously enough to ask why it is necessary.
Are free followers real accounts?
It depends entirely on the source, and you'll usually know within a day. Real delivery arrives gradually and stays. Fake delivery lands in one burst and drops within a week, because the platform removes the accounts behind it. TikTok reported removing over 86 million fake accounts in the first quarter of 2026 alone, so anything delivered by a farm is on a clock.
Will free followers get my account banned?
Receiving followers won't, because you can't control who follows you. Doing the following is what carries risk. Exchange sites and coin apps work by making your account perform coordinated activity, and that is the behaviour the platforms actually enforce against. A service that delivers to you without touching your account keeps that risk off you.
How much free engagement can I actually get?
From an honest source, a small amount on a cooldown. We give 100 free Instagram followers or 25 free TikTok likes and you can come back every 8 hours. Anyone promising thousands for free either isn't delivering, or is delivering something that gets stripped out later.
Why is this list shorter than other lists?
Because the other lists weren't checked. We removed everything that no longer resolves, and that removed four of the biggest names in the category. A list of twenty tools where only six exist isn't more useful than a list of the six.
What to do with this
If you landed here because a site you used stopped working, the odds are good it didn't break. It closed, sometimes years ago, and the search results haven't caught up.
Pick something from the live half of the table, check what it wants from you before you paste anything, and treat a password request as the end of the conversation.
