What Happened to Gramto?
Gramto shut down in spring 2023 and promised paid users a refund of their last month. What it automated, and what's on gramto.com now.
Gramto was an Instagram scheduling and automation tool. It posted for you, and it also followed, unfollowed, liked, commented and sent DMs from your account. In spring 2023 its homepage was replaced by a short notice: "Gramto Shuts down." Since August 2024 the domain has carried a different site, a generic page about social media analytics.
Quick Answer: Gramto closed in 2023. Its notice, archived on May 23, 2023, said "For paid subscribers, we'll be refunding your last month," and pointed to support@gramto.com. There's no sign of the old tool on gramto.com today. If you came for Instagram growth, our free tier gives 12 free Instagram likes with no password.

What did Gramto do?
In 2019 it called itself "100% Free Instagram Automation All in One Tools." Its homepage said it would "handle your Post Schedules, Auto Comment, Auto DM, Auto Like, Auto Follow, Unfollow & More," across up to 100 Instagram accounts on one dashboard. There was a 3-day free trial, and the page said the tool was "managed by Team Pilot Poster."
By January 2023 its pitch leaned on staying unnoticed. "Spinning your content makes your account act like a real human and keeps it under IG radar," the page said. It also said the tool "emulates real iOS and Android mobile devices," so that "it'll be difficult to get your account flagged," in its words.
Instagram said in 2018 that it would begin "removing inauthentic likes, follows and comments from accounts that use third-party apps to boost their popularity." Automated follows, likes and comments from a tool that poses as a phone are the activity that line describes.
When and how did Gramto shut down?
The archive's last copy of the working tool is from January 19, 2023. By May 23, 2023, the homepage held only this:

It was signed "Team Gramto," and it gave no reason. We can't tell whether the refunds were paid, and the address it gave sits on a domain that now shows other content.
What is gramto.com now?
A different kind of page. Since August 17, 2024, gramto.com has shown a generic pitch for "social media analytics," with a "Start free trial" button and the line "No credit card required." On October 23, 2026, it also carried a section on WhatsApp automation for local businesses, with a link to another company's site. Nothing on it mentions Instagram scheduling or the 2023 closure.
A sign-in page at client.gramto.com carries the name "Gramto Social, Inc." We don't have an account, so we can't see what it leads to. The domain is registered through October 3, 2027.
A Gramto alternative: HCLOUT
