Path Social sells monthly Instagram growth plans and promises "No bots. Just real, engaged growth through personalized AI targeting," as its homepage put it in September 2026. Its domain dates to 2014, ScamAdviser rates it "Likely Safe," and Trustpilot holds about 1,650 reviews of it. The complaints that do show up are about the followers that arrive and about refunds. We sell some of the same things, so read this as a competitor's take.

Quick Answer: Path Social is a long-running subscription service, and the word "scam" in its searches mostly comes from unhappy subscribers. One documented case from 2022 says the followers "appeared to be fake" and that refunds came only in the first week, though the company did refund that subscriber in the end. Before you pay, find its current refund and cancellation terms, since those decide what happens if you're unhappy.

The 1-star reviews on Trustpilot describe bots and fake followers, and the 5-star ones describe slow, steady growth, by the web search. A second Trustpilot page, for pathsocial.co, showed 4 from 237 reviews. That review page is one Path Social has claimed, so it's worth weighing lightly. ScamAdviser's check is automated, and its last update was three months old when we read it.

What does one subscriber's story show?

A SavingAdvice blogger wrote two posts about Path Social in 2022. "Path Social promised to grow my Instagram account with real, organic followers. However, every account that followed me appeared to be fake," the June 10, 2022 post says. The blogger asked to cancel in the second week and was told the company only offers refunds "in the first week of their service." After pushing, "the company did give me a refund," the post says. It's one account from 2022, and it shows why the refund window matters more than the sales page.

How much does Path Social cost?

Its own pricing page showed our server a challenge page, so we couldn't read it. Kicksta, a competitor, listed Path Social's Core plan at $49 a month and its Elite plan at $69 a month in October 2025, and claimed there was "no trial, no refund policy." Treat both lines as a rival's read, and check the current prices and terms on Path Social's own site before paying.

What do Instagram's rules say?

Instagram's guidelines ask users to "stay spam-free by not artificially collecting likes, followers, or shares," as Google shows them. In 2018 it said it would begin "removing inauthentic likes, follows and comments from accounts that use third-party apps to boost their popularity." Those rules apply to any growth service, ours included. Path Social says its followers come from "personalized AI targeting," and the pages we could read didn't explain the method further.

What should you check before subscribing?

• The refund window. Find it in writing, and note the date you sign up.
• How to cancel. Know the steps before the first renewal.
• Whether it needs your login. An order should need only your username, and our guide on whether you need a password to buy followers compares services.
• A card you can dispute. In the US, the CFPB says a card dispute needs a written notice within 60 days of the statement.
