Telegram Gifts: Collectibles, Crafting and Selling
Telegram gifts are bought with Stars. Upgrade one to a collectible, wear it, sell it on the marketplace or craft rarer ones. How each part works.
Telegram gifts are small digital items you buy with Telegram Stars and send to people or channels. You can upgrade a gift into a collectible, which Telegram says has "special attributes" and "can be transferred to other users or auctioned on NFT marketplaces." Since then they've grown fast. By February 2026, Telegram said users had "minted millions of gifts from over 100 collections."

How do you send a gift on Telegram?
Open the person's profile and send it from there. "To send a gift, open any user's profile and tap the 'Send a Gift' button," Telegram said in May 2025. Its August 2026 post gives today's path: "open any user's profile and tap ⋮ / ⋯ > 'Send a Gift'," then pick the "Collectible" filter if you want a rare upgraded one.
You pay with Stars. Telegram's Stars terms list "Telegram gifts and gift subscriptions to Telegram Premium" among the things Stars can buy. Our Telegram Stars guide covers what Stars cost.
"Telegram gifts" gets about 2,400 searches a month, up 18% in recent months.
What are collectible gifts?
They're upgraded gifts with their own look. "When you upgrade a gift it unlocks a new appearance from dozens of custom variations made by Telegram artists," Telegram wrote on January 1, 2025. Each one also gets "a random set of secondary traits, including a background color, icon and number," so some are rarer than others.
At launch, more than 20 gifts could be upgraded, "totaling over 1400 unique appearances." Upgrading isn't free. It "costs a small amount of Telegram Stars, which are used to cover blockchain fees," Telegram said.
You can show one off, too. "To wear one of your gifts, go to My Profile > Gifts, tap a gift and select 'Wear'," Telegram's January 24, 2025 post says. It then shows as your emoji status.
Can you sell Telegram gifts?
Yes, through Telegram's Gift Marketplace, which opened on May 8, 2025. You can "use Telegram Stars to buy thousands of rare gifts from other users," and sell your own "to earn Stars for new ones," Telegram said. To sell, open the gift on your profile, tap Sell and set your price in Stars. It then gets a Sale label on your profile.
There's a second route outside Telegram. Since January 24, 2025, gifts "can now be transferred or auctioned via the TON blockchain," the way collectible usernames can. Telegram says that "gives owners permanent control," even if they lose or delete their account.
What is gift crafting on Telegram?
It's a way to make rarer gifts from ones you already own. Telegram added it on February 9, 2026: collectible gifts "can be combined to create Uncommon, Rare, Epic or Legendary versions." You can add "up to 4 gifts," and each extra one raises your chance of success. Using gifts with the same traits makes those traits more likely in the result.
