What Happened to 4Gram, the Free Instagram Liker?
4Gram was a free Instagram auto liker that took your password and used your account to like others. What its addresses show in 2026, and what to do now.
4Gram was a free Instagram auto liker at 4gram.io. It ran as an exchange: you logged in with your Instagram password, and in return for likes and follows, your account liked and followed other members. The Internet Archive's copies show it working in 2019. By December 2019 the site returned a server error, and by April 2020 the domain was parked for sale. Someone registered 4gram.io again on April 13, 2026, and it now forwards to an unrelated site.
Quick Answer: 4Gram stopped working at the end of 2019. "You'll receive instagram likes or followers to your account through our system, But you'll also giving likes or followers to others," its 2019 homepage said. It asked for your Instagram password or a Facebook access token. If you ever gave it your password, change it. Instagram's 2018 advice to users of apps like this was to "change your password to revoke their access to your account," in its words.
"4gram" gets about 880 Google searches a month, by Google's Keyword Planner on October 24, 2026, though a web search that day returned mostly weight converters and Turkish gold prices for it. "4gram apk" gets about 40.
What was 4Gram?
Its homepage title in January 2019 was "4Gram | Insta4Liker - Free Instagram Auto Liker & Auto Follower & Auto Commenter," by the archive's copy. It called itself an exchange: "You'll get likes, follows, and comments from our members," the page said, and it didn't charge anything.
To join, you typed your Instagram password into its form. "We need your password to fetch and display your account photos and process likes and followers for your account," it explained, and it promised it didn't store the password. It also warned users about Instagram's own alert. On a first login, "you get notification from instagram that someone was login to your account," the page said, and it asked you to "please Allow this login" so the site would work. By August 2019 it also took a Facebook access token as a login, by its own page.
In an exchange, it's your account that does the liking and following. Instagram's terms bar "accessing or collecting information in an automated way without our express permission," as Google showed them on October 24, 2026. And on November 19, 2018, Instagram said it would begin "removing inauthentic likes, follows and comments from accounts that use third-party apps to boost their popularity."

Which 4gram is which?
| Address | What it is |
|---|---|

| 4gram.com | A default WordPress page in 2017 |
Registry records and Internet Archive captures, read October 24, 2026, and detikInet's list of November 23, 2019.
An Indonesian tech site, detikInet, listed 4gram.net in November 2019 as an auto-followers site that asked for your Instagram username and password. It gave 20 to 30 followers once every 10 minutes, by that list. 4gram.net's robots file blocks every crawler, so we didn't read it. A web search on October 24, 2026 found no official 4Gram app page, and searches for "4gram apk" turn up other bots.
What should former 4Gram users do?
- Change your Instagram password if you ever typed it into 4Gram, as Instagram advised users of such apps in 2018.
- Check your Facebook apps if you used the Facebook login, since 4Gram's page said it used your Facebook access token.
- Treat the name as a new operator. 4gram.io was registered again in 2026, so whoever runs it now may have nothing to do with the 2019 service.
Other free tools went the same way. Our pages on what happened to InstaPy and Instagram bots that got shut down cover them, and our guide on whether you need a password to buy followers compares services that ask for one.
