Spotify Pair: How to Log In on a TV or Console

spotify.com/pair is the page where you log a TV or game console in to your Spotify account. On the TV, you select LOG IN WITH PIN. Then, on your phone or computer, "go to www.spotify.com/pair and enter the pin you see on your screen," Spotify's help says. It saves you typing a password with a remote.

We read Spotify's help articles for TVs, PlayStation, Xbox and Spotify Connect on October 24, 2026. The pair page itself forwards to a Spotify sign-in page that our reader isn't allowed to open, so we've relied on Spotify's help.

What are the ways to log in to Spotify on a TV?

Spotify's TV, PlayStation and Xbox apps offer the same three ways:

If you normally log in with Facebook, the email route needs a Spotify password first. Spotify's help tells those users to "create a Spotify password."

How do you use spotify.com/pair?

1. Open the Spotify app on your TV or console.
2. Select LOG IN WITH PIN. A PIN appears on the screen.
3. On your phone or computer, go to www.spotify.com/pair.
4. Enter the PIN from your TV.

Your TV then logs in to your account. The same steps work on PlayStation 5 and 4, and on Xbox Series X, Series S and One.

How do you log in with Spotify Connect?

1. Make sure your phone and TV are on the same WiFi. Spotify says that's needed the first time.
2. Open Spotify on your phone and play something.
3. Tap the device icon at the bottom of the screen.
4. Pick your TV or console.

What's different on PlayStation and Xbox?

PlayStation: logging in links Spotify to your PlayStation Network account. Spotify says this "automatically logs you in to Spotify whenever you log in to your PSN account." Music keeps playing while you game, and on a PS5 you control it from the Music card in the control center.

Xbox: music "continues playing when you go to your game," Spotify says. Press the Xbox button to open the Guide, then select Spotify to skip or pause.

Why isn't the Spotify pair code working?

Spotify's TV help lists these fixes:

• Check the TV's internet connection.
• Update the Spotify app in your TV's app store, and update the TV's software.
• Restart the Spotify app, then the TV, then your WiFi.
• Delete and reinstall the Spotify app on the TV.
• Try another WiFi network, if you can.

On Android TV, Spotify Connect also needs a permission. Go to Settings, then Apps, then Special app access, then Display over other apps, and allow Spotify.

How do you log out of Spotify on a TV?

Spotify's Sign out everywhere skips TVs and consoles. Spotify says it excludes "partner devices (ex. speakers, games consoles, and TVs)." For those, go to the apps page in your Spotify account and choose Remove Access.

On PlayStation, you can also unlink in the console: Settings, then Users and Accounts, then Link Services, then Spotify, then Unlink.

Remember that one account plays on one device at a time. "You can only play on one device at a time, per Spotify account," Spotify says, so a TV someone else is using will stop when you play on your phone.
