TikTok Seller Center: Sign Up, Fees and Rules
TikTok Seller Center is where you open and run a TikTok Shop. How to sign up, what US sellers need, the 6% referral fee, refund fees, and the 11 countries.
TikTok Seller Center is where you open and run a TikTok Shop. TikTok says it covers "store operations management, customer service and engagement, seller growth and education, performance analysis, and policy updates." You sign up with a TikTok account or an email and phone, verify your identity or business, add your addresses and link a bank account. In the US, TikTok Shop charges a 6% referral fee on most completed orders.

Where is TikTok Seller Center available?
In 11 countries, TikTok's June 2026 guide says: Indonesia, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States and Vietnam.
How do you sign up for TikTok Seller Center?
- Sign in or sign up with a TikTok account, or with an email and phone number. "You can't use an Organization Account to sign up for a TikTok Shop," TikTok says.
- Choose your country.
- Pick your seller type: a business, or yourself as an individual. A business needs details like its legal name and EIN.
- Verify your information.
- Add your addresses: a warehouse or pickup address, a contact person and a return address.
- Agree to the terms and click Start Your Business.
Then you'll upload documents. An individually owned business uploads the front and back of a passport, national ID or driver's license. A corporation uploads a legal representative's government ID plus a business license or registration. Your application's pending until TikTok approves it.
Last, you'll link a bank account so you can get paid. The account name has to match your registered name, or your company name for a corporation.
Don't submit before you've checked everything. "Business and personal information cannot be changed after submission, and products stay hidden until verification is complete," TikTok's Seller University says.
What do US individual sellers need?
TikTok's US rules for selling under your own name:
- Age and residence: "at least 18 years old" and living in the US
- A fresh login: a phone number and email "not already used to open another shop"
- ID: a US passport or passport card, driver's license, state ID or permanent resident card
- Tax ID: the last 4 digits of your Social Security number, or an ITIN
- Proof of address: a utility bill, insurance policy, bank statement or credit card bill
- Tax form: a W-9 for US sellers, and a W-8 for sellers outside the US
You can start before the tax paperwork is done, up to a point. You can list and sell "without tax documents, but only until you earn $2,000," TikTok says. To keep selling and get paid after that, you'll need to submit them.
What does it cost to sell on TikTok Shop in the US?

The referral fee "encompasses all TikTok Shop fees, with the exception of shipping and tax fees," TikTok says. It's charged on "Buyer Paid + Platform Discount - Tax." Of the 206 categories on TikTok's US list, 189 pay 6%. The five 5% jewelry categories are diamond, gold, jade, platinum and carat gold, and ruby, sapphire and emerald.
On a $50 order at 6%, the fee is $3.
What happens to fees on a return?
TikTok refunds the referral fee minus its refund administration fee. TikTok's own examples:

Two refunds carry no admin fee: "buy now refund later" creator sample orders, and buyer cancellations that auto-cancel before shipping.
New sellers don't pay the full rate at first. Since April 1, 2025, a seller whose first sale comes within 60 days of onboarding gets a 3% rate for 30 days, TikTok's Seller University says, as a web search showed it.
