Twitch Affiliate takes 25 followers, 4 hours of streaming, 4 different stream days and an average of at least 3 viewers on 4 of those days. Twitch's help center lists them as "Reach 25 Followers · Stream for 4 Hours · Stream on 4 Different Days · Reach an Average of 3 Viewers." Twitch lowered the bar in early June 2025, and plenty of guides still quote the old one.

We read Twitch's "Monetization for All" post (updated May 13, 2026), its partner page and its Monetized Streamer Agreement (August 21, 2026) through our server on October 23, 2026. Twitch's help center loads by script, so its pages come from Google's view of them.

About 27,100 people search "path to affiliate twitch" each month, and another 5,400 search "twitch affiliate requirements."

What changed in 2025?

Twitch's own post lists the old bar next to the new one.

Twitch Blog, "Monetization for All," updated May 13, 2026, read October 23, 2026. Twitch writes the viewer rule as "Min 3 ACCV (on 4 different days)."

Twitch gave its reason. It "heard that requiring an average CCV, for example, created a disadvantage for streamers who wanted to stream more, regardless of how many viewers they had." Long, regular streams were also "a real challenge for those also working or studying full time," the post says.

The post says the change came "in early June." It doesn't print the year, but a YouTube video from June 5, 2025 said Twitch "just made the Path to Affiliate much easier." A Reddit thread from November 2025 asked when the follower rule dropped "from 50 to 25."

How does Twitch count each one?

Followers. You need 25 accounts following your channel. It's the easiest bar for most new streamers.

Hours and days. You need 4 hours of streaming in total, spread over 4 different days.

Viewers. This one trips people up. Twitch's help center says "you need an average 3 concurrent viewers (watching at the same time)." A big total view count won't help. Its FAQ asks you to "reach a minimum of 3 average viewers over any 4 stream days in the last 30 days."

The best news in the new rule: "Days below 3 average viewers don't count against you." Under the old average, a long stream to an empty room pulled the number down. Now a slow day simply doesn't count.

You'll find your progress in the Path to Affiliate achievement, on your Achievements dashboard.

What happens once you qualify?

Twitch says streamers who hit the bar "should automatically receive an email and a notification in their Creator Dashboard to start the onboarding process." Then come three steps.

  1. Turn on two-factor authentication. "You must enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on your account to begin Affiliate" onboarding, Twitch's help center says.
  2. Accept the Monetized Streamer Agreement. If you're over 13 but under 18, the onboarding guide adds a step for your parent or legal guardian.
  3. Send your tax and payment details. The agreement says payouts depend on documents "(e.g., IRS Form W-9, IRS Form W-8)." If they aren't in "within 180 days" of fees becoming payable, you "will forfeit such Program Fees on a month-to-month rolling basis" until they arrive.

Meeting the numbers doesn't promise a yes, though. The agreement says you must "be approved by Twitch to participate," and "We will determine your eligibility at our sole discretion."

What does Affiliate get you in 2026?

Mostly, it gets you paid. Since May 13, 2026, "Channel Points, subs, emotes, badges, and Bits will be available to eligible streamers globally," Twitch's post says. The payout still needs the status: "Streamers must earn Partner or Affiliate status to receive a payout."

The agreement is blunter: "if you are not a Twitch Affiliate or Twitch Partner, you are ineligible to receive any Program Fees." Twitch also sets a "$50 minimum payout threshold." Spendable Balance, which Twitch launched in the US first, lets you spend that balance on Bits and gift subs before you reach it.

Affiliates can also earn a better sub split. "Affiliates who earn a total of 100 Plus points or more for 3 consecutive months will qualify for a net revenue share of 60/40 from paid recurring subscriptions," Twitch's FAQ says. Hold 300 points for 3 months and it rises to 70/30. A Tier 1 sub is worth 1 point, Tier 2 is 2 and Tier 3 is 6, per Twitch's January 2024 post.

What are the Twitch Partner requirements?

Partner is a much bigger step. Twitch's partner page asks you to "Complete the Path to Partner achievement or demonstrate large, engaged viewership/following on other services."

The achievement wants "6 streams of 6 unique days with an average of 75 viewers," Twitch's help center says. You need 6 such streams in the last 30 days, and 6 more in the 30 days before that. That's 12 streams in all.

Some viewers don't count. "Viewership from hosts, raids, Reruns, Premieres, Front Page spotlight, and Subscriber Streams does not count towards Partnership consideration," the partner page says. The achievement is a floor, too: "completing them does not guarantee Partnership."

What Partner adds over Affiliate, per that page:

  • VODs kept for 60 days, "vs only 14 days for Affiliates"
  • Up to 50 channel emotes
  • Guaranteed transcodes, the quality options viewers pick from

Some guides still quote "25 hours of streaming on 12 different days" for Partner. Twitch's help now counts streams that average 75 viewers.

Why do so many guides still say 50 followers?

They were written before June 2025, or they copied a page that was. In Google's top 10 results for "twitch affiliate requirements" on October 23, 2026, 3 snippets showed numbers that don't match Twitch's current bar. A 2024 guide gave 50 followers and 500 minutes. A 2017 guide gave 500 minutes and 7 days. A March 2026 guide said "50 hours of streaming" and "an average of 10 concurrent viewers," which match neither Twitch's old bar nor its new one.

When a page disagrees with this one, check the Path to Affiliate achievement on your own dashboard. That's the version Twitch actually counts.

How fast can you become an Affiliate?

The bar needs 4 different stream days, so 4 days is the floor. After that, onboarding runs on Twitch's side. In practice, the viewer rule decides your timeline, because you need 4 days where at least 3 people watch on average.

Hclout sells Twitch followers, so weigh this the way you'd weigh any seller's advice. Followers only touch the 25-follower line. Twitch says "fake engagement and artificial inflation of channel statistics are violations of our policies," and the viewer bar has to be real people watching.
