Twitch Drops: How to Get and Claim Them

How to get Twitch Drops: link your game account, watch a Drops-enabled stream, claim in your Inventory in time, and fix drops that don't arrive.

By Hclout Team7 min read

Twitch Drops are in-game rewards you earn by watching a Drops-enabled livestream for a set amount of time. To get one, link your game account to Twitch first, then watch a stream marked "Drops Enabled." When you've watched long enough, click Claim on Twitch's notification or in your Drops Inventory at twitch.tv/drops/inventory. Twitch gives you up to 7 days (168 hours) after a campaign ends, though some games want it claimed within 24 hours.

We read the Drops pages of World of Tanks, Civilization VII and Hunt: Showdown 1896 on October 24, 2026. Twitch's help center loads by script, so its wording comes from Google's view of it.

About 201,000 people search "twitch drops" in an average month, and searches peaked at 301,000 in December 2025. Another 14,800 search for the Drops inventory.

What are Twitch Drops?

Drops are rewards a game studio hands out to people who watch its game live. "Twitch Drops are in-game rewards you can earn by watching participating livestreams on Twitch for a certain amount of time," Wargaming's guide says. A campaign can run on a game's official channel, on creators' channels, or across a whole category.

Wargaming sorts them into three types:

TypeWhat you get
Guaranteed DropsA set reward once you reach the watch time
Mystery DropsA random reward from a fixed pool, including rarer items
Mission DropsIn-game missions to play

Wargaming, "Twitch Drops Guide," June 21, 2026, read October 24, 2026.

Some campaigns also reward you for backing a streamer. Hunt: Showdown 1896's campaign runs from October 26 to November 9, 2026. Subscribing or gifting one subscription on a live Hunt channel earns a chat badge and a profile title, and two earn a Legendary Hunter.

You don't need Prime Gaming. Wargaming says the memberships "are not required to earn Twitch Drops."

How do you get Twitch Drops?

  1. Link your game account first. You do it on the game's side: Wargaming's Account Management page, your 2K Account, or Crytek's Hunt Drops page. Twitch's help lists "Link Your Game Account FIRST" as step one.
  2. Find a stream with Drops on. Look for the Drops Enabled tag, or the Drops callout at the top of chat. 2K says the callout tells you "how long you need to watch to earn each reward." Recorded streams and VODs don't count.
  3. Watch for the required time. Each drop has its own watch time. On 2K's Civilization VII page, 30 minutes on any Drops-enabled Civ VII stream earned a profile banner.
  4. Claim it. Once you've met the goal, "you will receive a claim notification at the top of the Twitch navigation," 2K says. Click Claim, or claim it later in your Drops Inventory.
  5. Wait for delivery. The reward goes to your linked game account. 2K says that takes up to 24 hours. Wargaming says you may need to log out, restart the game and log back in.

Watch one Drops stream at a time. Watching several at once "will not increase progress speed and may stop progress tracking entirely," Wargaming says. Keep that one stream in your main browser tab.

Where is the Twitch Drops inventory?

It's at twitch.tv/drops/inventory. The page shows your progress on each live campaign and lets you claim what you've earned. Wargaming says you can also follow progress on the Twitch progress bar or in the Drops & Rewards section of your Twitch profile menu.

How long do you have to claim Twitch Drops?

Up to 7 days, by Twitch's rule. "From the Drops Inventory page you can claim any unclaimed Drops rewards for up to 7 days (168 hours) after the Drops campaign has ended," Twitch's help says.

Some games set a tighter clock. The safe habit is to claim the moment the notification shows up.

Twitch (general)Up to 7 days (168 hours) after the campaign endsDepends on the game
World of TanksWithin 7 days (168 hours) after the campaign endsUsually automatic; you may need to restart the game

Why aren't your Twitch Drops working?

Work down this list. Each fix comes from Twitch's help or a game studio's own pages.

What went wrongWhat to do
You never clicked ClaimOpen your Drops Inventory and claim anything marked "Ready to Claim"
The game account isn't linked, or the wrong one isIn Twitch, open Settings, then Connections. World of Tanks and Hunt allow one game account per Twitch account
The stream didn't have Drops enabledLook for the Drops Enabled tag. VODs don't count
You watched two Drops streams at onceWatch one, in your main browser tab
An ad blocker, or a muted or minimized streamTurn off the ad blocker and keep the stream unmuted and on screen
You changed a passwordThat "may automatically unlink your accounts," Wargaming says. Link them again
You claimed, but nothing showed up in the gameLog out, restart the game and log back in. Crytek says items can "take some time" to appear

Twitch Help, "Drops Troubleshooting," and Kabam and Pokémon support, as Google showed them, plus the Wargaming and Crytek Drops pages, all read October 24, 2026.

Did your reward come as a code that never arrived? Twitch's help points you to "the game developer or promotional partner." Rust players can use Facepunch's Drops page, which has a button "to check for missing drops" once your accounts are linked.

Do all regions get the same drops?

Mostly. "Most Drops campaigns are shared across Europe, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific," Wargaming says. Some campaigns are region-specific, run only on certain channels, or have different dates, so check the campaign's announcement.
