What Is Twitch Turbo?
Twitch Turbo is a $11.99 monthly plan in the US that removes ads across Twitch. What it includes, how it differs from Prime, and when it's worth paying for.
Twitch Turbo is Twitch's own monthly subscription for viewers, and its main perk is ad-free viewing. "With Turbo, you can watch your favorite streams without video or banner ads, except as part of channel sponsorships," Twitch's help center says. In the US it costs $11.99 a month, up from $8.99 before Twitch raised it in 2023.
We read Twitch's blog on October 24, 2026. Twitch's help center and Turbo page load by script, so their wording comes from Google's view of them.
About 40,500 people search "twitch turbo" in an average month, and that's counting a jump to 246,000 in July 2026.
What do you get with Twitch Turbo?
- No ads across Twitch. Video and banner ads go away on every channel, except ads that are "part of channel sponsorships."
- Longer VOD storage. "Turbo subscribers have their past broadcasts saved for 60" days, Twitch says, which matters if you stream too.
- Chat extras. StreamScheme's 2023 guide lists an "Expanded Emote Set," a "Twitch Turbo Exclusive Chat Badge" and "Custom Chat Username Colors."
Turbo works across all of Twitch, so you don't need to subscribe channel by channel to watch without ads.
How much is Twitch Turbo?
$11.99 a month in the US. "Twitch Turbo is going from $8.99 per month to $11.99 per month in the US," The Verge reported on May 25, 2023. Tax comes on top, a Reddit user noted in August 2026: "Twitch Turbo in the U.S. is $11.99 not including taxes."
Other countries pay local prices. Twitch keeps a "Turbo Pricing by Country" page in its help center listing the countries that "have received Turbo price" changes.
Is Twitch Turbo the same as Prime?
No. Twitch Prime (now Prime Gaming) used to include ad-free viewing, but that ended in 2018. "Amazon is removing one of the most important features of its Prime service for Twitch users: ad-free viewing," Business Insider reported in August 2018, with the change starting that September.
| Twitch Turbo | Prime Gaming | A channel sub | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ads on all channels | Removed | Not removed | Not removed |
| Supports a streamer | No | A free channel sub | Yes |
| US price | $11.99 a month | Included with Amazon Prime | From $5.99 |
Twitch Help via Google, Business Insider (August 2018), and Twitch's partner page for sub prices, read October 24, 2026.
The Prime row's free sub comes from Twitch's own partner page, which lists "the Prime Gaming free subscription" among sub options.
Is there a Twitch Turbo free trial?
Sometimes, as a promotion. In May 2026, Twitch ran an anime marathon with Crunchyroll: "when you sign up for a 7-day free trial of Turbo between May 14-20 you'll unlock ad-free viewing, an additional 15% discount at the Crunchyroll Store, and the Ani-May Chat Badges," Twitch's blog said. Offers like that come and go, so it's worth checking twitch.tv/turbo for the current one.
Streamers may soon have another way to pay. Twitch said in May 2026 that it would add "Turbo and channel subs as purchase options" for Spendable Balance, the money streamers earn but haven't cashed out.
Is Twitch Turbo worth it?
It depends on how much you watch and who you'd like your money to reach.
- You watch many channels and hate ads: Turbo is the only plan that clears ads everywhere.
- You mostly watch one or two streamers: a sub supports them directly, and you'll know where your money goes.
- You already have Amazon Prime: use the free Prime Gaming sub on a channel you like, even though it won't remove ads site-wide.
- You stream: the 60-day storage for past broadcasts is a real perk.
