Twitch Prime: How to Get Your Free Twitch Sub
Twitch Prime became Prime Gaming, then part of Amazon Luna in 2025. Your free monthly Twitch sub stays. How to link your accounts and claim it each month.
Twitch Prime is the old name for the Twitch perks that come with Amazon Prime. It became Prime Gaming in 2020, and in October 2025 Amazon folded Prime Gaming into Amazon Luna. The main perk survived both changes: one free Twitch channel subscription each month. To use it, link your Amazon and Twitch accounts, click Subscribe on a channel, tick Use Prime Sub and click Subscribe with Prime. It doesn't renew on its own.
We read Amazon's and Twitch's own pages, plus reports on the Luna change from 2025 and 2026, on October 24, 2026.
About 40,500 people search "twitch prime" each month, and 12,100 search "twitch prime sub."

What do you get on Twitch with Prime?
- One free channel sub a month, to "a partnered or affiliate Twitch channel of your choice," Amazon says.
- That channel's sub perks, such as "chat privileges, emoticons, ad-free viewing and more."
- Prime emotes, a chat badge and chat colors across Twitch.
- Longer broadcast storage if you stream yourself.
- Free games and in-game loot each month, now claimed through Luna.
How do you claim your free Twitch sub with Prime?
- Sign in to Twitch in a web browser. No Twitch account yet? Create one and link it to Prime on Twitch's channel subscription page. Amazon says you'll verify with "a six-digit code texted" to your phone.
- Go to the channel you want to support and click Subscribe.
- Tick Use Prime Sub.
- Click Subscribe with Prime.
Then set a reminder. "Your subscription does not auto-renew each month," Amazon warns, so you'll need to repeat the steps every month to keep supporting the same streamer. Amazon suggests the monthly Prime Gaming update as your cue.
What's the free sub worth?
About one regular sub. Amazon's guide of March 28, 2024 says a channel sub "ordinarily costs $4.99 per channel each month," the US web price. Some countries pay more. On March 28, 2024, Twitch raised Tier 1 web subs to A$8.99 in Australia, C$7.99 in Canada and £4.99 in the UK.
Twitch said at the time that it had "not increased channel sub prices since their inception" before that round.
Do you need Amazon Luna for the Twitch perks?
You need Prime, and Luna Standard comes with it "at no extra cost," Reviewed says. Prime costs $14.99 a month or $139 a year in the US, per Reviewed's June 2026 update. Luna Premium, at $9.99 a month, is an optional add-on for more cloud games. The Twitch perks don't need it.
