To delete a Facebook post, open your profile, find the post, tap the three dots on it and choose Move to trash. It sits in your Trash for 30 days, and then Facebook deletes it. "After you've moved your content to Trash, it'll be deleted after 30 days," its help center says. To clear many posts at once, use your activity log.

We read Facebook's help center as Google showed it on October 23, 2026. Facebook's pages refuse our reader, so its words are quoted from Google's view of them.

"How to delete a facebook post" gets about 33,100 searches a month. "How to delete all facebook posts" gets another 8,100.

The Trash gives you a way back. "During the 30 days, you can restore your content to where you originally posted it on Facebook, move it to your Archive or you can select content to delete," the help center says. A restored post returns to the same audience. "When you restore your content, it'll be visible to the audience that was selected before it was moved to Trash."

How do you delete all your Facebook posts at once?

Use your activity log:

  1. Go to your profile and tap the three dots next to Edit profile.
  2. Tap Activity log, then Your posts. A June 2026 Lifewire post gives the same path.
  3. Select the posts you want gone.
  4. Move them to Trash.

Facebook's help center describes the same tool: "you can select one or more pieces of content at a time."

How do you delete a post from a Facebook Page?

Page posts work differently. "You can remove posts shared from your Facebook Page by deleting them," Facebook's help center says. "Deleting a post will permanently remove it from your Page." So check twice before you delete one there.

How do you delete a comment on Facebook?

Facebook's help center lists these steps:

  1. "Tap the post containing your comment."
  2. "Tap and hold the comment."
  3. "Select Delete comment, then tap Delete."

Should you delete, hide or archive?

Deleting isn't the only choice. Facebook's help page is titled "Remove or hide a post from your profile," so you can hide a post from your profile instead. You can also move posts to your Archive from the Trash, the help center says.

Watch out for fake help numbers

Searching for this brings up a forum post that copies the steps and drops a phone number into the text. It sat in Google's top 10 on October 23, 2026. Facebook's help pages don't list a number, so don't call one, and never share a login code.
