How to Delete Your Pinterest Account
Delete your Pinterest account from Settings, then Account management, and confirm by email. You have 7 days to change your mind. Or deactivate it instead.

After 7 days, a deleted account is gone. "After 7 days, the account and data are deleted and can't be recovered," Pinterest says.
How do you delete Pinterest on a computer?
- Log in to your Pinterest account.
- Click the more-options icon, then select Settings.
- Click Account management on the left.
- Click Delete account and follow the prompts.
- Open the email Pinterest sends you and confirm.
Want a copy of your data first? You can request a download of your Pinterest data, but Pinterest says you'll need "the web version of Pinterest to make the request."
How do you delete it in the Pinterest app?
- Tap your profile picture at the bottom right.
- On a personal account, tap your profile photo at the top left. On a business account, tap the three-dot icon at the top right.
- Tap Account management.
- Scroll down and tap "Delete your data and account."

How do you deactivate Pinterest instead?
Use the same Account management page, and pick Deactivate account in place of Delete. "Your profile and boards will not be visible unless you reactivate your account," Pinterest says.
Two things to know. Your email address and username "still remain tied to that account," so you can't reuse them elsewhere unless you change them first. And don't log in to check on it. "Do not log in to check if your account is still active as this will reactivate your account," Pinterest warns. Visit pinterest.com/ followed by your username while logged out instead.
How do you get a deleted or deactivated account back?
Log in. "In most cases, all you need to do to reactivate your account is log in," Pinterest says. For a deleted account, that only works within 7 days of closing it.
You'll need the email on the account. "If you don't have access to this email, you can create a new account instead," Pinterest says. If you're in California and deleted your account, Pinterest says you'll "need to contact us to reactivate your account."
If Pinterest itself deactivated your account for a Community Guidelines violation, it asks you to contact it to appeal.
What about business accounts?
You can delete them the same way, after one extra step. "If you have outstanding bills on a business account, you'll need to remove your payment information to clear them before deleting your account," Pinterest says. Unpaid ad spend is charged to the card that was on file at the time.
What if you can't log in to an old account?
Recover the login first through Pinterest's password reset. If that fails, one Reddit user in November 2024 advised emailing Pinterest's privacy support team, and said it worked for them.
Check for duplicates, too. A 2024 YouTube tutorial warned, "You might have multiple Pinterest accounts without realizing it."
