TikTok Profile Views: Who Sees Your Visits and How to Hide Them

TikTok shows profile visits only when both accounts turn the setting on, for users 16 or older with under 5,000 followers. How to turn it off.

To turn off profile views on TikTok, open Settings and privacy, tap Privacy, then Profile views, and switch off profile view history. Visits only show between accounts that both have it on. TikTok Support says "You'll only see profile views from accounts" with the setting on too. It's not for everyone, either. TikTok says "You must be 16 years or older and have fewer than 5,000 followers to have access to this feature." Post view history works the same way, for your videos.

We read TikTok Support as Google shows it, plus Async's and Descript's guides, on October 23, 2026. We didn't change these settings on an account.

What do TikTok's two view settings show?

SettingWhat it showsWindow
Profile view historyVisitors with it onPast 30 days
Post view historySome viewers of your postsPosts from 7 days
Story viewersPeople who watched itWhile it's up

TikTok Support as Google showed it on October 23, 2026, and Async's guide of October 12, 2026.

Async calls the post list "partial by design." It shows followers who have the setting on, plus non-followers "who liked or commented" on your post. Someone who just watched with the setting off won't appear.

How do you turn off profile views on TikTok?

  1. Open your profile and the menu. TikTok Support says to "tap Profile at the bottom," then the ☰ button, then Settings and privacy.
  2. Tap Privacy. Look for Profile views.
  3. Switch off profile view history. wikiHow's steps say to "toggle off Profile view history" there.
  4. Do the same for Post views. That controls whether you show up as a viewer of others' videos.

Async notes profile view history is "off by default," so if you never turned it on, you're already hidden from it.

Can people see that you viewed their TikTok?

Only if you both have the setting on, and you both qualify. Reader's Digest calls it "a two-way street," and that cuts both ways. Turn it off, and you won't appear in anyone's list, but you also won't see your own visitors.

Why don't I have profile view history?

Check the two limits first. You need to be 16 or older and have fewer than 5,000 followers. Bigger accounts don't get the feature at all, so a creator past 5,000 followers can't see visitors and won't show up in other people's lists either.

Does viewing in a browser show up?

A Reddit thread from February 2026 says "TikTok doesn't notify someone just because you viewed their profile through a browser." Profile view history tracks visits from logged-in accounts that have the setting on.
