What Happened to IGTools
IGTools shut down permanently in October 2022 and the domain no longer resolves. We checked on 9 September 2026. Here is the goodbye note and what to use now.

IGTools closed permanently in October 2022. The operators posted a goodbye note, wiped their Telegram channels, and left. The domain has since lapsed entirely.
Forty thousand people a month still search for it.
Quick Answer: igtools.net has no DNS record, so there's nothing to connect to. It shut down in autumn 2022 with a short note on its own homepage. Articles published this year still tell readers to "stop using IGTools immediately", which is difficult when the site hasn't existed for nearly four years. The last archived copy of the homepage is from 3 October 2022. The entire page is four lines:
Sorry. Our websites are closed permanently. Thanks for everything. With Love. IGTOOLS & IGPanel
That's it. No explanation, no redirect, no successor. IGPanel.net went at the same time, and the Telegram channels that drove most of the traffic were emptied.
What the archive shows
You can watch it die in the file sizes, which is the useful trick when you can't read an old page directly.
Saved copies run four to five kilobytes of real page from 2020 through 25 May 2022. On 21 June 2022 the size drops to about 1.7 KB and never recovers. That's the site becoming an error page. The last capture of any kind is the October goodbye.
There is no archived copy of igtools.net after October 2022. Today the domain doesn't resolve at all.
What IGTools used to do
It gave free Instagram engagement: followers, likes, story views, reels views and poll votes. You gave it a username, no password, and most of the traffic ran through a Telegram channel rather than the website.
The poll votes were the unusual part, and they're still what most of the remaining search volume asks for. Nothing we found replaces that specific feature.
What people find instead
Three sites currently hold the name, and none of them is IGTools.
igtools.org is a WordPress article farm. Its blog categories include "Automobile", which tells you how much it cares about Instagram. igtoolsnet.in runs its own advertising and leads with a headline promising a thousand fake Instagram poll votes. igtools.net.in serves the same domain-parking script we found on fbsub.net, under a parking account named sav-parked.
That's three separate operations farming the search traffic of a site that said goodbye in 2022.
The bit that should worry you
When IGTools closed, its users were widely told to move to GetInsta.
We checked GetInsta on the same day. getinsta.com is a parking page with the domain listed for sale on a domain marketplace. getinsta.net is a stub, getinsta.io says "Loading" forever, and getinsta.app has no DNS record.
So the recommended replacement for a site that died in 2022 has itself been dead for years. That's the shape of this whole category. The advice ages badly because nobody re-checks it, and the search results keep sending people to corpses.

What to use instead
For free Instagram engagement, the honest options are narrower than any 2022 list will tell you.
Poprey still gives around 10 free Instagram followers and 25 free likes, and wants your email address for it. Leofame gives free TikTok followers on a username alone but doesn't cover Instagram the same way. Hublaagram still runs, but it's an exchange: you sign up, install a program, and like strangers' posts to earn likes on your own.
Ours works differently, and here's the same disclosure we'd ask of them. You get 100 free Instagram followers on your profile, 12 free Instagram likes on a post you choose, or 100 free Instagram views on a reel. A claim comes round every 8 hours. We want a link or username and an email address, never a password, and there's nothing to install.
The numbers are small because every claim runs through the same suppliers our paying customers get. A site promising a thousand free poll votes is either not delivering, or delivering accounts that get removed.

It never asked for a password, which put it in the safer half of this category. The risk today is entirely from the sites using its name, because you have no idea who runs those.
What's the safest free Instagram option now?
Anything that takes a public username or post link and nothing else. Avoid apps that want your Instagram login and then use your account to follow strangers, because that's the activity platforms actually enforce against. Our free tier takes a link and an email.
