Do Bought Instagram Followers Drop?

Instagram's help center gives the reason, as Google shows it: "If you notice a change to the number of likes, follows or comments on your Instagram account, it may be because some of it came from accounts generating" inauthentic activity. Bought followers can fall into that group. Instagram has also cleaned up follower counts in public at least three times.

In 2014, "Justin Bieber lost 3.5 million fans, or 15 percent of his total," The New York Times reported. In 2018, Instagram said it would begin "removing inauthentic likes, follows and comments from accounts that use third-party apps to boost their popularity."
The latest one came in May 2026. "As part of our routine process to remove inactive accounts, some Instagram accounts may have noticed updates to their follower counts," Meta said. Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, told users "This won't affect your reach." One Reddit user put it plainly that week: "my followers went from 15k to 14.6k in like seconds."
How many bought followers drop?
There's no reliable number. We haven't found a seller or platform that publishes drop rates, so we don't give one. An earlier version of this page did, and we've taken it out. What you can plan around is the refill window in a seller's own terms.
What do refills cover?
We read the refund and refill terms of seven follower shops on October 22 and 23, 2026. All seven offered a refill or top-up when followers drop after delivery. Six offered it for 30 days and Media Mister for 60. Twicsy also sells an extension to 90 days. None refunded an order once it was fully delivered. Buzzoid says refunds "are not guaranteed," and Media Mister grants them "at our sole discretion." Our page on getting a refund when followers drop has each shop's wording.
Our own terms: Instagram followers carry a 30-day refill, and TikTok followers carry none. If an order fails or only partly delivers, the rest is refunded automatically to your HCLOUT balance, which you can withdraw on request.
What should you do when they drop?
- Note the count and the date as soon as you see it fall.
- Check the refill window in the seller's terms, since most run 30 days.
- Ask for the refill inside that window, with your order number.
- Don't count on a refund for drops after full delivery, which none of the seven shops offered.
