To block someone on TikTok, go to their profile, tap the Share button at the top, then tap Block and confirm. They won't be told. If a lot of accounts are bothering you in the comments, TikTok lets you block up to 100 at once. To undo it, go back to the same profile and tap Unblock.
We read TikTok's support pages as Google showed them, and TikTok's newsroom, on October 23, 2026. TikTok's support site builds its pages with scripts our reader can't run, so the steps are quoted from Google's view of them.
How do you block someone on TikTok?
TikTok's support center gives three steps:
- "In the TikTok app, go to the person's profile."
- "Tap the Share button at the top."
- "Tap Block at the bottom, then tap Block again to confirm."
That's it. "People you've blocked won't be notified when you block them," TikTok says.
"How to block someone on tiktok" gets about 165,000 searches a month, up 6% in recent months.
How do you block many accounts at once?
Use the comments. TikTok's newsroom announced it on May 20, 2021: people "can now select up to 100 comments or accounts rather than having to go one by one, making it more seamless to delete or report multiple comments or block users in bulk." In the current app, press and hold a comment and tap Manage multiple comments. TikTok's support center says "You can select up to 100 comments" there.
| What you want | Where | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Block one account | Profile, Share button, Block | 1 at a time |
| Block from comments | Manage multiple comments | Up to 100 at once |
| Unblock | Profile, Share button, Unblock | 1 at a time |

What happens when you block someone on TikTok?
They're cut off from you. TikTok's own confirmation screen says a blocked account "will not be able to send you messages, see your posts, or find your profile," as Whop quoted it in January 2025.
It isn't airtight, though. "You may still see them in multi-host LIVE, Duets posted by others, or shared group chats," TikTok's support center says. Our guide to Duets on TikTok covers who can Duet you. So if you're both in a group chat, you may still see them there.
How do you unblock someone on TikTok?
It's the same path in reverse. TikTok's support center says:
- "In the TikTok app, go to the person's profile."
- "Tap the Share button at the top."
- "Tap Unblock at the bottom to confirm."
Can't find their profile? TikTok creators' own walkthroughs point to a Blocked accounts list under Settings and privacy, then Privacy. Open it and unblock from there.
Should you block, or just limit who can reach you?
Blocking is the strongest option, and it's quick to undo. If you only want fewer strangers in your comments and messages, a private account or tighter comment settings can be enough. Our guides to TikTok profile views and your TikTok watch history cover the other privacy settings, and our guide to blocking someone on Instagram does the same job there.
Growing an account brings more of both kinds of attention. Hclout sells TikTok followers, so weigh that the way you'd weigh any seller. Its free tier gives 100 free TikTok views or 25 free TikTok likes on a public video, with no password, on the free page. A short Cloudflare check runs before each claim.
