How to Delete a TikTok Video (and Get It Back in 30 Days)

To delete a TikTok video, open it from your profile, tap the share or three-dot menu, and tap Delete. It isn't gone for good right away, though. TikTok keeps deleted posts in a Recently deleted folder "within the past 30 days," its support center says, so you can restore one if you change your mind.

How do you delete a TikTok video?

wikiHow's May 2026 guide lays out the steps:

1. "Open TikTok."
2. "Tap your profile icon."
3. "Tap on the video you want to delete."
4. "Tap the share or three-dot menu icon."
5. "Tap Delete," then confirm.

You might see a second choice called Delete and re-edit. "If you see the option labeled Delete and re-edit, tap it to edit the video before reposting," wikiHow says. Pick plain Delete if you want the video off your profile.

How do you get a deleted TikTok video back?

Go to Recently deleted. TikTok's support center gives the path:

1. "In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom."
2. "Tap the Menu ☰ button at the top, then select Settings and privacy."
3. "Select Activity center, then tap Recently deleted to see posts that have been recently deleted within the past 30 days."
4. "Tap on the post you'd like to restore," then restore it.
