How to Pin a Comment on TikTok, and Why the Option Might Be Missing
Press and hold a comment and tap Pin, if your account still has it. Many creators don't. What wikiHow, Reddit and TikTok's own pages say, and what works.
To pin a comment on TikTok, open your video's comments in the mobile app, press and hold the comment, and tap Pin. That's if your account still has the option. Many don't. TikTok's own topic page says "Many creators are reporting that the option to pin comments on their videos and during live streams has disappeared." wikiHow goes further and says TikTok "removed the pinned comment feature sometime in 2022," leaving pinning to LIVE.
We read TikTok's pages and wikiHow as Google shows them, plus FeedGuardians' guide, on October 23, 2026. We didn't test this on an account, and it seems to differ from one account to the next.
Can you still pin a comment on TikTok?
The sources disagree. This table puts each one's answer side by side.
| Source | On videos | On LIVE |
|---|---|---|
| wikiHow | Removed in 2022 | Yes |
| Reddit, July 2026 | "no longer" possible | Not said |
| TikTok's topic page | Missing for many | Missing for some |
| FeedGuardians | Yes, mobile only | Yes |
wikiHow, Reddit and TikTok's pages as Google showed them on October 23, 2026, and FeedGuardians read that day.
TikTok's page leaves the cause open: the gap "may be a bug, a temporary issue," or something else, it says. So if you don't see Pin, you're not alone.
How do you pin a comment if you have the option?
- Use the mobile app. FeedGuardians says pinning "only works on the TikTok mobile app" and not on desktop.
- Open your own video's comments. "Only the video creator can pin comments on their own videos," it adds.
- Press and hold the comment. Hold it "for about 1 second" until the menu pops up.
- Tap Pin. FeedGuardians lists one pinned comment per video.
How do you pin a comment on TikTok LIVE?
During a LIVE, tap the comment and choose the pin option. A creator's tip video describes it this way: "Once pinned, the comment stays at the top of the chat so viewers can easily read it during the live" for everyone. TikTok Support's LIVE page covers comment settings too, so you can "allow, block, or filter comments" from your LIVE settings or chat. Our guide to going live on TikTok covers who can go LIVE.
What can you do instead of pinning?
| Workaround | What it does |
|---|---|
| Video reply | Turns the comment into a post |
| Put it in the caption | Readers see it first |
wikiHow as Google showed it on October 23, 2026, for the video reply.
wikiHow says users "work around the removal of pinned comments by video-replying to a comment," which puts the comment on screen in a new video. If the point was a link or a key answer, the caption is the one spot every viewer sees.
