Snapchat Plus (Snapchat+): Price, Plans and Features
Snapchat+ launched at $3.99 a month. Its 40+ features, the Family, Lens+ and Platinum plans, how to cancel, refunds, and how many people pay for it.
Snapchat+ is Snap's paid subscription for "exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features." It launched on June 29, 2022, at $3.99 a month. Subscribers can pin a #1 Best Friend, see how many friends rewatched their Story, restore one lost streak a month and change the app icon. You subscribe from the Snapchat+ card at the top of your profile. To cancel, go back to where you paid: the App Store, Google Play or Snapchat's website.

What do you get with Snapchat+?
Snap says the plans come with "40+ exclusive features," and its help center names 34 of them. These are the ones people ask about most:

Some of these start switched off. Solar System is "off by default for first time subscribers," and Snapscore Multiplier is off by default too. You turn them on from your Snapchat+ membership card.
Story Boost has a limit worth knowing. Snap says it's "not for commercial use," and it works only on Friend and Private Stories.
How much does Snapchat+ cost?
Snap launched Snapchat+ at $3.99 a month in the US and quoted the same price again in May 2023. Its help center doesn't list today's prices. "The price shown on your device is the price you'll be charged if you subscribe," Snap says, and pricing "may vary in different countries and devices."

Platinum and Lens+ are "rolling out slowly and may not be available in your region," and neither is sold on the web. Platinum also keeps some ads. "You may still see sponsored places and My AI responses," Snap says.
Lens+ launched on June 11, 2025. Snap's Imagine Lens, which makes images from a typed prompt, followed in September 2025 for Lens+ and Platinum subscribers only. Since October 22, 2025, everyone in the US gets "a handful of free generations."
How do you get Snapchat+?
- Go to your Profile.
- Tap the Snapchat+ banner card at the top.
- Choose a subscription.
- Pay in the App Store or Google Play. You may need to restart Snapchat before the features appear.
Can't find the card? Snap says you "may have to dismiss other banner cards in your Profile first." You can also subscribe on the web at snapchat.com/plus. Platinum and Lens+ aren't sold there.
Pick the right account before you pay. "Snapchat+ subscriptions can't be moved from one Snapchat account to another," Snap says. One Apple ID or Google Play account can hold one monthly subscription. A second Snapchat account on the same store account can get a one-time 12-month subscription.
Is there a free trial?
Through Snap's partners, yes. They hand out promo codes that start a free trial. You'll still need "a valid credit or debit card," and the trial becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
On an iPhone, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. "If you cancel on the last day of the trial, Apple will automatically renew your subscription," Snap warns.
Can you gift Snapchat+?
Yes. You can gift 3, 6 or 12 months to friends who aren't subscribed. A gift is a one-time purchase that doesn't renew, and it stays on the account that redeems it.
How do you cancel Snapchat Plus?
You cancel where you subscribed:
- iPhone: in the App Store, under your active subscriptions.
- Android: in the Google Play Store, under your active subscriptions.
- Web: sign in at snapchat.com, then open Accounts and My Subscription.

Can you get a refund for Snapchat+?
That depends on who charged you:
- App Store or Google Play: ask Apple or Google. "Snapchat Support will not be able to assist you with refunds for subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store," Snap says, and the same goes for Google Play.
- Web, United States: there's no refund for "the unused portion of a month or year." You keep the features "until the end of the billing period you already paid for."
- Web, Europe and the UK: cancel within 14 days of a charge and you'll get a pro-rated refund within 7 to 10 business days. Your Snapchat+ access ends with the refund.
- Verizon +play or the MySTC app: contact that partner.
What happens to your Memories?
Memories storage is part of the plans now. Everyone gets 5GB free. Snapchat+ includes 250GB, and Platinum includes 5TB. A 100GB storage-only plan costs $1.99 a month in the US.
Snap announced the storage plans on September 26, 2025. It said users had saved "more than 1 trillion Memories" since 2016.
If you're over 5GB and don't upgrade, your Memories stay stored. Starting in January 2027, Memories more than a year old that aren't part of your oldest 5GB "will be archived." They'll show as thumbnails, and you'll need more storage or a download to open them.

That last row needs care. Snap's February 2026 post says its "subscription community" passed 25 million. It lists Snapchat+, Lens+ and Memories storage plans among those products. Some news coverage reported the figure as 25 million Snapchat+ subscribers.
The same post put Snap's direct revenue past a "$1B annualized revenue run rate." It also counted "more than 946 million monthly active users," so the paying share is small. Reports on Snap's results for the second quarter of 2026 put it below 3% of monthly users, as a web search showed.
Is Snapchat+ worth it?
It's worth it if you live in Snapchat. Streak keepers get a free restore each month. Best Friends watchers get the Solar System and the extended list. And if you've saved more than 5GB of Memories, the included 250GB covers what a storage-only plan would.
Most features are about your friends. Story Boost, for one, only works on Friend and Private Stories. Want fewer ads? That takes Platinum, and it still shows sponsored places.
