To change your Facebook password, tap Menu, then Settings & privacy, then Settings. Tap Accounts Center, then Password and security, then Change password. Enter your current password and the new one. If you've forgotten it, start at facebook.com/recover and find your account with your phone number or email.

We read Facebook's help center as Google showed it on October 23, 2026. Facebook's pages refuse our reader, so its steps are quoted from Google's view of them.

"How to change facebook password" gets about 40,500 searches a month, and "how to reset facebook password" another 12,100.

How do you change your Facebook password?

Facebook's help center gives these steps:

  1. "Log into your Facebook account."
  2. "Tap Menu in the top right of Facebook."
  3. "Tap Settings & privacy, then tap Settings."
  4. Tap Accounts Center, then Password and security.
  5. Tap Change password. Pick the account if you have more than one, then enter your current and new passwords.

Some versions now call Accounts Center Meta Account. The rest of the path is the same.

Make it hard to guess. "If your password isn't strong enough, mix uppercase and lowercase letters," Facebook's help center says. "Make it more complex by using a longer phrase or series of words."

How do you reset a forgotten Facebook password?

Go to facebook.com/recover. Facebook's page asks you to "Find your account," starting with your mobile number, or you can "Search by email instead." Then follow the steps Facebook sends you. If someone else took over the account, our guide to Facebook account recovery covers the hacked route.

Facebook's own help page covers both cases. It explains "how to change your Facebook password if you're already logged in or if you forgot it and can't log in."

Does changing your password log you out everywhere?

Not always on its own. A Quora answer notes that Facebook may offer a "log out of all devices" option while you change your password. Take it if you're worried someone else has access.

You can also check later. Facebook's help center gives the path: Settings & privacy, then Settings, then "Tap Accounts Center, then tap Password and security." From there, open Where you're logged in, pick your account and log out of anything you don't recognize. A Reddit answer from November 2025 describes the same path.

Can you see your Facebook password?

Facebook's settings let you change your password. If you saved it on your phone or in Chrome, your password manager may have it. Google's passwords.google.com lists passwords saved in Android or Chrome. "How to see your facebook password" gets about 2,400 searches a month.

Keep your login to yourself

Never type your Facebook password into an app or site that promises followers, likes or a profile viewer list. If you already have, change your password and log out of all devices. Hclout's orders and free tier need a public link and an email, and no password. Its free tier gives 20 free Facebook likes on a public post, on the free page. A short Cloudflare check runs before each claim.
