"Snapchat web" gets about 2.24 million searches a month.
How do you log in to Snapchat Web?
- Open web.snapchat.com in Chrome, Edge or Safari.
- Log in with your Snapchat username and password.
- Confirm the login on your phone.
That's how PetaPixel described it at the worldwide launch in 2022. Snapchat's help adds two checks if it won't open. Use the latest version of your browser. Also make sure the app on your phone is up to date and logged in to the same account.
There's one catch. "You can only be logged into Snapchat for Web on one computer at a time," Snapchat says. Logging in on a second computer logs you out of the first.

Calls: click a friend's name in the Chat feed. Then click the video camera icon for a video chat or the phone icon for a call. The share button next to the camera and microphone controls shares your screen.
Snaps: click the Camera, then click the lens icon for a photo. Hold it down to record a video.
Files: drag an image into the chat bar, click the picture icon, or paste it in.
Stories: take a Snap with the camera and send it to your Story. You'll need the app to see the Story afterward, Snapchat says.
Can you upload videos to Snapchat from a computer?
Yes, through a second site. Go to profile.snapchat.com, sign in and drag in your video. You can send it to My Story or to Spotlight.
Snapchat sets a few rules for Story uploads. Videos must be 5 to 60 seconds long, with a 540x960 minimum resolution. "Snapchat content has a 9:16 aspect ratio, so we automatically crop your video," it says.
Can you install Snapchat Web as an app?
In Chrome or Edge, yes. Snapchat's help gives two ways: click the link to install the desktop app at the top of your feed, or click your Bitmoji and pick Create Desktop Shortcut. It then sits on your desktop, start menu or dock.
To remove it, open the three-dot menu at the top right and click Uninstall Snapchat.
When did Snapchat Web come out?
Snap introduced it on July 18, 2022. It started with Snapchat+ subscribers in the US, UK and Canada, plus users in Australia and New Zealand. Snap said then that 332 million people opened Snapchat every day. It said more than 100 million used its voice and video calls each month.
It opened to all users worldwide on September 15, 2022, PetaPixel reported. Your Bitmoji shows up holding a laptop when you chat from the web, it noted. A privacy screen hides the window when you click away.

Can people screenshot your Snaps on the web?
They can. Snapchat's help puts it plainly for app and web alike: the people who view your Snaps and Chats "can always capture and copy it." It also notes someone can take a picture with another device. Don't send anything you wouldn't want saved.
How do you log out of Snapchat Web everywhere?
Use Session Management. It lists every device and browser signed in to your account.
- On a computer: go to accounts.snapchat.com, click Session Management, then click Log Out next to the session.
- In the app: open Settings, then My Account, then Session Management, and tap the X next to the session.
Snapchat warns it "may not take effect immediately." If you see a session you don't recognize, log it out and change your password. Our guide to changing your Snapchat password covers that.
